Still playing with the D500 and 150-600 OS Sport.  Couple of marks on the younger fella from the previous night's battles.  D500 and Sport at 220 focal length.  1/160 F8 at 1000 iso.  plus 0.67

Love all the "debris" David! I would prefer a tad bit more room at the top, perhaps if you also took this vertical? Just my own preference here, as it looks fine as presented.

What a handsome boy he is Dave, a wonderful and regal pose! Once again the soft. misty light enhances the shot, and mood beautifully.

With the vegetation on the right antler, it looks like this may be the same stag that was in your last post.  In any event, this handsome brute appears to be in total control of his territory.  Love the soft lighting, the fog (for atmosphere), and the killer eye contact.  The composition works for me with the stag placed off center, and I really appreciate the inclusion of the rugged habitat.  A real beauty, Dave!!!  :)

Thanks Ron. This stag was a younger version, some two miles away from the last post...  (his tines are a bit spikier...  )..  certainly was a productive day but the best of the day was first light as it got gloomier and gloomier...

appreciate all the time you guys take to look and comment.  thanks

Stunning shot -- terrific pose, nice perspective, and great background. Very painterly

Love the attitude of the male and mood of a battle field which is nicely depicted through the photograph.

OK coming in late to the party seeing this after the cropped version, count me in the camp of preferring this wider view.

Dave,
Stunning image, moody lighting and soft like butter background. Love the stuff hanging off of his sharp antlers, looks rugged !!
