This is one of my favorite images of 2016. It's a large male Jaguar, at night, inside the forest, aggressively protecting a White-lipped Peccary that it had just killed. This is a controlled situation (semi-captive) but still, the sheer thrill and brutality of the cat in this situation is something I will remember for a long time.

Shot with a Nikon D800 and 24-70mm, at 70mm.

When you have to kill to eat to live, there's no point in being a pussy cat about it Octavio. A good behaviour illustration in very striking light.

Outstanding pose, and good control of the light.

This Jaguar would scare the daylights out of me. I certainly would let him have his kill. Nicely done with just the right amount of light. The darker background adds to the scary feel.

I was going to say, he/she doesn't look like they want to share.

Great capture.
