Taken recently.  Just to wish you all a very happy Xmas for you and your loved ones.  This is an experiment with the D500 & Sigma 150 -600 combo as I wanted to see how the D500 would perform but also wanted a Dx camera to give a bit of extra detail in the bg.

1/100 F8 ISO 1000 +1.33 in very foggy conditions hence the hi key effect.

This is one handsome stag, Dave!  His antlers are huge, and I love the high key presentation!  I think the fog really worked to your advantage, because the background is close to perfect.  Excellent work, Dave!  I'll bet this was a joy to photograph. Merry Xmas to you and yours!

A handsome stag and a great pose. The head turn gives a nice view of those beautiful antlers with their sweeping curves and tines, and the foggy conditions soften the colour tones to give a lovely, almost timeless effect to this superb image. Beautifully done Dave! Thank you for your kind words and good wishes, and I hope life is being kind to you and yours.

A cracking good rack here David, love the soft moody/muted colours here, worthy of an EP.

Good to see your images again, David.
Love this one - good feel and mood and clarity despite the inclement weather.
How are you finding that D500?

D500.  well.... in good light it's gorgeous..  in this foggy light, it gets by.  (so does pretty well other cameras).. I still prefer a D800 file, but it is a tool that works.

to the nuts and bolts.  The Buffer is just plain ridiculous.  I bought  QXD lexar card.  end of story for buffer issues.  It DOES make a difference. AF speed and accuracy.  OMG.   Put simply, The fog came down on me and my father in law that day and I just kept on shooting.  My Father in Laws D7100 did not.  I would say that it is the best without fail DX camera I have ever had.  For action, web presentation, etc, just plain OMG... From that session, i have quite a few more images to show which hit the mark for me, but will drip feed.  It is a game changer, particularly at it's cost but I WOULD NOT use it to replace a hi res camera but to use alongside.

good to hear from you and sincerely wish you the best.  man, you are inspiring

I love the high key, low saturation look. A very moody and nice capture.
