But with the morning horizontal sun rays I was able to get a clear, bright photo on a frosty morning.[/font]

That low, early light does give you some wonderful detail in the face, and spotlights him well. I would think about cropping off the right edge to eliminate the white tree trunk- it catches my eye and takes me away from the subject.
