Grizzly bear #399 from Grand Teton National Park, taken a couple weeks ago after a bit of snow. Canon 7DMk2, 600mm f4; 1/400 sec at f8, ISO 400.

The right ear has an ear tag and there is a bit of shaved spot on the bear's back from a recent sampling by scientist of blood.

Snow on his face makes him look like a big soft donut ;) Great shot of this big fellow, nice texture in the fur.

Always good to see your images and this is a beauty! Grizzly bears are such imposing creatures and the soft light is perfect to bring out excellent detail in the face and fur. I love the classic stance with a 'leg at each corner' pose and the eye contact is very compelling and draws me right in. The dusting of snow on the face where its been foraging is a nice addition in this superb shot!

Man bear looks fat and ready for hibernation..... Fine image just a few distracting grasses but face is open.. Hard to get away from them.. Well done!

Thanks Robert, I actually liked the grasses as they helped frame the face and provided a bit of depth. I am in the Teton area now, hopefully we can get together someday soon.
