Sugar Glider  Petaurus breviceps

We heard them yapping from inside and went out and found this guy in the tree just off our front deck, went in assembled the camera/flash found the red torch and got some shots.  Red torch not bright enough for the AF though so this is MF.  First time I've seen them round home, though have seen feathertail gliders once before.  Looks like he has a tick on board.

Ticks are such revolting parasites and this one looks engorged. There are probably more than one on this poor little glider. Interesting wildlife close to home Chris!

Glad that it stayed around long enough for you to get some shots. Those huge eyes leave no doubt about the nocturnal lifestyle of this little one. Nice work with the flash, pretty evenly lit and no "flash look" (hard shadows) is always a plus.
