Geoffroy's Spider Monkey

I photographed a small troop of spider monkeys living in the dry forest near Horizonte research station. I was working with a group of my students teaching them techniques for doing field research when three of these (all ladies) took an interest in us.

It looks like she's giving you as much intense scrutiny as you gave her Bruce, photographing up into the tree canopy is always a challenge and you handled it well. I love the way she is draped around the tree with those iconic spider limbs and her expression is wonderful!
