Black Caiman / Peruvian Amazon

Being used to the Spectacled Caiman in Costa Rica always surprise me to find this giants at the Upper Amazon. With over 12 feet of length this Caiman was not that happy to see us...

That is right amigo, the spectacled no more than 8 feet (2.5 meters) but the Black ones can reach out 15-18 feet of length (5-6 meters)

The flies always go for the eyes, don't they. The hide is too strong for them to make any impression anywhere else!

A fine image of this submerged hunter and the eye detail (and the fly) just makes the shot for me!

In fact I was Leigh, with 800mm total and 30% crop, I would say 8 meters away or so my friend!!!

Right in the eye is were the flies finds the vulnerability to the armor of scales Carol, love that you like it and hope that you are having a great Sunday!!!
