Red Deer Stag in velvet, browsing along the riverside in Glen Etive, Scottish Highlands.

40D + Sigma 100-300F4 + 1.4TC.  ISO 400.  F8.

Beautiful buck and over the shoulder look Carol. I wish for a bit more room on the left but you probably had reasons for ending the frame there. Nice Processing. Its nice to see someone else still using the 40D. Even with its limitations I often prefer the files to the 7D.

A very handsome buck, I love the color of the coat. So different than the deer here. I like the splash of yellow flowers at his feet and the water behind, such a peaceful setting.

Thank you John, always good to hear from you and glad you like him.  This is full frame, I had the 1.4TC on and he just came so close as we were downwind and well concealed.  He was more interested in another deer approaching, and yes, I still like my 40D - if it 'aint broke, don't fix it!  :D
