Hello NatureScapers...

Here's an image made this June at the American Bear Sanctuary in northern MN..The last day was overcast (thick) and rainy. We had seen yearlings frequently during the previous three or four days but it was not until this last day that this year's cubs came into the sanctuary area during the day. The sows "park" the babies in the tree while they go and eat, providing wonderful photographic opportunities...

I don't have the technicals available at this location but my guess is about 1/100th at F8

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions..

I like this one a lot - especialy the dangling hind legs and that "can't you see I'm trying to sleep" look he is giving you.

Sweet shot Dennis. The expression is precious and so is the pose.

Very worthy of a cuteness award. The branch LLC form a nice complimentary diagonal to the forefront branch.

Lovely photo. I'd like a little more contrast in it.

Very nice again Dennis. :) I just looked at your website and my oh my do you have some wonderful images. There is a certain high quality "look" you seem to maintain in all your shots that really stands out. This little cub is adorable and deep green background sets him off so well. I love the dangly legs and grumpy little look on his face.

Does it get any cuter than this?! What an awkward position he is in - and I bet it got worse - this is wonderful!

Excellent shot, Dennis! I think only seeing part of the cub really makes this alot more interesting than if all of him were visible. Great exposure, and DOF too with the branch that comes forward. Very nice.

Hey Dennis,

Nice shot, though it's too tight on the RHS for me. Great work wih the flash though, I would have expected the tree limbs to go too bright with FF at -1 here.

Cheers

Another great image!! I like the placement in the frame and the way that the tree frames the cub.

Very high on the cuteness factor! A great demonstration of good use of fill flash.

That can't be a male cub because it does look fairly comfortable! (cough! )

Another wonderful grab Dennis, ...................... as usual! :)

Very, very cute! Nice exposure and composition. Like Carl, I could take a bit more room on the right, but I would take this as it stands in a flash.
