Excellent. Eye shine, face amazingly sharp and great twist of the head with water flinging everywhere.. Amazing.. Dave, where you in a boat when you made this image...you appear pretty low or is that just apparent from the 500? Cool shot and thanks for contributing here..

This is truly an excellent shot. My one small nit is I'd like the right side of the frame to have the neagtive space but I'm sure this all occurred very quickly.

I love it Dave. Amazing amount of the bear still in focus while the rest is rotating. Way cool.

Good shot- I like how yours is more off center than mine. Same action, but certainly a very different picture. Bears are sure a lot of fun to watch!

Was this during that notorious hot spell that gripped Europe for so long?

It certainly was :) It's the only time I've seen the bears actually doing anything interesting, other than sleeping or eating. He spent a while playing in the water before submerging to get under a tree limb. I just knew he was going to do this when he came up, but knowing where he was going to come up was a guess. I was nearly right ;)

Dennis - the enclosure is about twenty feet or so below the walkway and the pond is roughly 50 feet away. I'd guess the angle is lost because of the distance to subject.

Very good, Dave! I like how most of his face is sharp, with blur all around. I don't mind the open space being on the left, somehow this seems balanced the way it is.

Very nice job to be prepared to capture this. Dennis mentioned the low angle; love that you've even got a catchlight in the left eye. I really like the contrast of the spray and the calm water right in front.

Very cool shot. The focus and catchlight in the eye is great. I wonder if animal have the ability to keep the eye in one spot while shaking the rest of the head and body??
