Guanaco - Parque Nacional Torres del Paine
a6000, 16-70mm

The very first shot I took upon entering Torres del Paine National Park was of this Guanaco watchman.  Guanaco herds always have one animal standing on a high lookout to warn the others of an approaching Puma.

A beautiful image. I love these kind of shots. The only thing I would change is have a bit more sky so that peak doesn't seem so crammed into the top....maybe you have that when you cropped it?? Very nice

EJ,

I've been going back, looking at this image many times. The thing that makes it for me is the combination of composition, with the guanaco standing on the edge of the rise, and the color, with the warm color of the animal set against the strong blues of the mountain background. The choice to crop into a strong horizontal accents the mountain range and the water body.
One for the classroom!

Great guanacoscape EJ, very balanced. My only nit is the bluish tone of the mountains - it feels a bit oversaturated and it makes the guanaco look pasted in there. I realize that the blue tones are also what makes the subject jump out of the image, but still. Hope that makes sense.
