I know that the last motif just passed (spotted motif), but I just couldn't resist.

This was a tricky one to capture, with the backlighting and all. These three males were all sparring with each other, and took the time to stop for a split second to pose for the camera. Yeah, whatever. I think they were tired.

Serengeti N.P., Tanzania, location near Simba Kopjes.

Very funny! They were especially cooperative all looking more or less in the same direction.

Nice one Andy. I like the fanning effect from their neck positions. I am not sure I would want to see this image or this pose if I had been drinking! Well done and thanks for sharing. Keep 'em coming.

Nice job.. a late motif contribution is still a contribution in my book. Good job on exposure. I like seeing the zebras in the bg.. Thanks again for posting. Very well done.

Like this a lot, with the two rear heads popping up over the back. Like also how you've got a bit of the environment as well with the zebras. I've not used fill flash on giraffes before but am looking forward to trying it in situations like this. Without flash and exposing for the backlit giraffes really makes them stand out. I'm wondering if flash at -1.5 (and better beamer) and then underexposing the ambient by maybe .5 (or more) would get you a better mix of background and giraffes? (But I would definitely take this one first and then start experimenting!)

My first impression was yeah its funny and well executed under difficult light conditions.

I then looked more carefully and the photo said "This is Africa!" I love the combined background of zebras, tall trees and the mountain ridge. It conveys the feeling of africa, its animals and its moments of humour of which there is but a few as everything has to consentrate on its survival.

Thanks for sharing. I love my continent.

Good one, Andy! Yeah, it is humorous, and I also really like the background which adds a ton to the image.

What a clever shot - two different types of giraffe in a one in a million (zillion) pose, the zebra and the background! Very, very nice.
