OK, last moose for a while, I promise.

I hadn't planned on posting this one but decided it would illustrate a point. In my last post I had the moose's head below the horizen so that the breath was against a dark background.

In this image, even though the small bull is exhaling, you're hard pressed to see it since the immediate backgound had little contrast to the breath.

Thanks for the comments.

This one is outstanding - my only wish would be for the legs to not be cut-off

I really like the color of the light and the horns are clearly visible. Its neat the trees can be easily made out in the background. Great shot. A little turn of the head to the moose's left to get the nose away from the body would have been the only think I would have wished for. You did great!

Tim, Please don't say that this is the last moose for awhile. Keep them coming! That soft glowing fog is great, and the head-on pose is unusual.

I like this one even better than the last. Different perspective and the colors are wonderful.

Hey man,

Looks a tad soft to me. Lovely idea, and difficult to execute. I've said here before I think silhouettes are extremely difficult to shoot well, because the lines of the subject have to be right on it, and they're usually not what we want to see thru the viewfinder. I agree with Dennis 100% on the work you're doing man .. that's what it's all about.

Cheers

Carl

One more vote concurring with Dennis. Very nicely done. I didn't notice the legs, well until E.J.'s post ;) , but did wish the head was turned to the left a bit more. And I'll also echo the wish for more moose.

Very good, Tim -- I really like the way the moose is seen in front of the trees in the background. The cut-off legs don't bother me, because if you had included them the moose would be smaller in the frame. I think the moose this size is perfect.
