Ok. Not the best cheetah shot out there, but I should at least posting something. Bad light, and not to mention the grass in front of the face. We sat there for an hour watching him sit up and down, watching those that passed by. It was in the middle of the day, and the light just wasn't optimal at all. Oh well!

Don't be too tough on yourself. Sure the light in the background could be better on a cloudy day but for the conditions at hand you did well. I like how the subject fits into the environment so well. This would work great for one of the up coming Motifs, kind of a camoflauge type image.. Cool..

Classic view of a cheetah! Sit up, lie down, sit up, lie down, .... Might take a bit more room at the bottom but looks like you would have very light OOF grass to contend with there. Just seeing a cheetah counts as a success, at least in TZ. I've seen more leopards and at much closer range than cheetahs.

Did seriously consider joining you this coming summer but my schedule is very tight. I have to be here 6/7 - 6/18 which is just about exactly the time you're going.

It is a amazing how we both have opposite successes. I hardly ever see leopards ('chui chui' in swahili. I love it when I hear my guide say those words.), but I see cheetah all the time. Of course, my goals are typically to spend more time down near Ndutu, which is where more cheetah live.

If you end up going to Tanzania, just let me know where you will be and when. It's always nice to have a post-safari beer at one of the lodges.

Well in a perfect world it would be nice to have better light but you did fine with what you were given. I like seeing the cat in the environment. I'd like just a bit more room on the bottom.

I like it, it has character. I think cropping about an inch off the top emphasizes the cheetah and gets rid of little bit of the bright light. Nice, sharp image with great detail.
