Hello NatureScapes:
Looks like things are going well for the first week here.. :)

This is another harp seal image from my trip to the Madgelan Islands in March. This is about an 11-12 day old pup, getting pretty big now. 40% fat in the milk translates into very rapid growth. By three weeks the seal pups are on their own on the ice, eventually to later enter the water.

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions.

Have a great weekend NatureScapers...

Very nice, Dennis! Excellent retention of detail in a high key image. I love the soulful look of the seal pup. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Dennis! With all that white it must have been a chore to keep the highlights from blowing out.

Nice image. I like the eye contact and the nice even light.

Dennis, this is just adorable. Great detail and sharpness throughout. The little bit of snow on the black nose and eyelash really put it over the top. :D

Love the contrast of the soft fur and the hard ice as well as the ice cube "facing" left and the seal facing right. Very nicely balanced composition. Over the top on the cuteness scale.
