As you may know (or suspect) I am a fan of the panoramic crop. I just like the feeling of this aspect ratio. It might be related to the number of movies I own in letterbox format, but who knows...

Little leopard frog from Horicon Marsh.

Cool shot Matt. I like this comp also. In my mind I can see the frog coming out of the water with plenty of space to land. I really like this pano crop for loon work too. Good going.

I like the pano on this. I'm pretty sure I would have opted for 1/500 at f/8 or even 1/250 at f/11 for DOF.

Hi Matt---love the repeated texture of the pond vegetation and spots on the frog. Would go for a bit more dof. Where is Horicon Marsh? Thanks!

Horicon Marsh is both a National Wildlife Refuge and State Wildlife Area is about an hour northeast of Madison, in eastern wisconsin. It's got one of the most diverse bird populations in Wisconsin. And has a wide variety of habitats.

And that's a good note about DOF - I'll have to try again, I gues...
