Brown Bear
Hallo Bay, AK

I have always been intrigued by photos of shaking animals and how the center of the face stays in focus. When this young cub started to shake in front of us, i just had to shoot.

:? grab me a towel I just got spattered by him.
Great cature Cherly.

The detail in the claws face and over all stance is great. He maybe small but still no doubt could be troublesome if one met him on a trail.

Cheryl, this one really speaks to me! I love the water spray but also a softness in just a few areas like around the ears that are a subject contrast with the rocky terrain and the sharp claws. Not sure if that makes sense or not! But I love it, I find it quite artistic. :)

He looks like he's already dry! Great work on getting the shutter speed and composition on this action shot. The detail is very awesome as well.

Cheers

Hi Cheryl :)

Your timing here is perfect. Getting them at the moment the head stops turning but the fur is still moving is not easy. Superb shot, well done.

Hi Cheryl, this is really cool! The water spray is perfect, and so is the look on his face. Very nice.

Shutter speed and timing are absolutely marvelous. The face and the water droplets appear frozen while there's implied motion in the fur. It's amusing that the fur is moving that much faster than the water! Only question would be whether there's a slight tilt from left to right?

Great shot and perfect timing! Having the head reasonably sharp with a catchlight in the eye puts this over the top. Well done.

Cheryl, This is way cool! You nailed it. I bet 3 fps seems pretty slow to you when stuff like this comes along.

Chery, this is OUTSTANDING! I love images with motion contained therein, and this is a beauty. I see greeting card written all over it!

We did have a blast, and am greatly looking forward to returning next year.

Best,

Chas

Cheryl,

the frozen water and paw positions are perfect. Exposure and that expression are right on.
