This mother and fawn was shot on my last trip to Shenandoah Nation Park two weeks ago. There were plenty of deer all over the park you just need to be in the right place at the right time. I caught this fawn feeding on her mother late in the afternoon

Sweet photo, Jack, and a scene that I have seldom seen on film. Well done.

I love the subject matter, but think the lighting could be improved and it looks a little soft on my screen.

I tried a number of shots like this earlier this year and can appreciate the difficulties in nailing a shot like this. I think you did a nice job here and that maybe some USM would fix the softness mentioned by others.

What an intimate shot of this moment - very nice. Cropping the dark band of the trees at the top makes it even better in my opinion.

I've spent a lot of time in the Shenandoah NP (lived next door for 8 years) and seen many deer there but never one nursing. I'm very jealous!

Agree with E.J. on taking a bit off the top, as well as increasing the USM a bit. But I like the muted colors and relaxed look on the mother's face. It well captures the typical setting for deer in SNP.

Very nice scene overall with the wildflowers and tall grasses. The image is soft which I like for the mood of the photo; the colors seem a little cool. I like the trees in the BG because they provide a frame for the flowers behind the deer; my main improvement would be to adjust the contrast on the animals to make them stand out more.
