One last bear cub and the I promise ---no more. I guess I concentrated on the cubs (it comes naturally, I'm from Chicago) at the black bear photo shoot. This is a side shot---something a little different. It also represents the first time I cloned anything (some bright spots to his left) that probably stand out like a sore thumb. In any event here it is.
Canon Eos 10D, Canon 70-200/2.8 at 200; hand held. 1/50 at f 4.5. ISO 400. No flash. Cropped slightly I believe. Any comments and revisions very welcome.
(I had my fingers crossed when I said this would be the last one, just in case.)

Nice pose you got going here Joe. Seems to be some improvement in your photoshopping too. Never noticed the cloning till you told. Cast this guy in metal, he'd make a great hood ornament.

Very nice profile shot! I might want to see a little more of the paw.

Great exposure. I love how the green BG really makes the bear 'pop' off the screen. Very nice shot . I think either more paw or no paw would look better though.

Nice job with the exposure and I like the profile. I think I would prefer the right edge to be just behind the shoulder so that you include the front leg and paw. Removing the paw may give this that "head on the wall" look. There also seems to be a halo around the head and face that I guess may be from too much USM??? Thanks for sharing your blaack bear images with us.

Beautiful cub! Very nice contrast on the fur (!) and I am not seeing a sharpening halo but what reminds me of the effect of a midtone (saturation) adjustment where the edge of an enclosed area is slightly evident.
