Bighorn Sheep - Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1D, 400mm, 1/160, f/4, ISO 400

This is an image taken at the same time as Steve Mason's excellent Bighorn Sheep image that he posted a week or so ago. The snow had just started coming down as we were coming back from Medicine Lake in Jasper National Park and we saw several Bighorn up on a grassy area. This was taken using the top of my rental SUV as a camera support.

This is perfect
The colour of the grass and the horn, the background, soft lighting, combine perfectly.

Superb shot EJ, nature against the elements. Excellent composition and gorgeous colour tone really set this one apart from the norm.

Handsome specimen, well portrayed. The falling snow and the slightly apprehensive look on the subjects face (an anthropomorphic interpretation) are the key elements that give the image its impact imo. Nice one, EJ.

E.J., this is a winner for sure, with the snow definitely adding greatly to this image. I am definitely looking forward to going back this Nov. :).
Jasper is indeed a magical place!

I don't recall seeing this one before.
I like the angle on this shot, and the great colours.

A proud, regal stance on this animal and the snowflakes certainly add to the capture.

This evokes an immediate response to the mood of the photo---kind of a lonesome feeling for the animal because we see the first signs of snow. Would make a powerful seasonal card in some kind of series, I think.
