Hello NatureScapers:

Just thought I would toss another bear into the mix for bear week.. This is Oscar, the largest and dominant male bear currently at Vince Schutte American Bear Association Sanctuary in northern Minnesota. I, too, wanted to get him coming down the path so to speak and took this shot then promptly picked up my gear and got off of the trail. The volunteers at the sanctuary told me that most of the bears are very timid but Oscar moves out of the way for no one, man or beast..

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions..

Great shot Dennis. I am glad you did not get so caught up that you forgot to get out of his way. The exposure is right on and the green really makes him pop.

I love it - the open mouth is cool - great background too.

Exposure looks right on and open mouth definitely adds. Just a little tight in the frame for my taste though.

Lots of impact in this image, Dennis. Good eye contact and a low shooting position. I particularly like how you have controlled the f/g and b/g elements, which I found a bit difficult at VSWS.

This is one of my favorite images from the week. The light and colors really work well here. Thanks for sharing this.

Dennis,
An absolutely gorgeous black bear image. I found myself rolling the chair back and to the right to get out of the way. Light green and dark bear contrast works so well here.
P.S. Thanks for all of the help.

Superbly done. If it were taken anywhere else I would be wnating more room around but I know the place and the tight crop is necessary.

Very nice! I've heard of this place but never been. Something to check into, it sounds like!

Well done. I'd like to see just a tad more room frame right.

Wow! Just got over here to see the bears; the tight framing on this is quite effective. I just want to get the ---- out of here!
