Hello NatureScapes

This summer I had a chance to spend some time at the American Bear Association Vince Schutte Sanctuary in northern Mn. This is a unique area for working with wild bears which have become habituated with people.

A group of cubs popped out of the woods and started walking towards us down the road. We moved back because we ended up positioned between the sow and the cubs. This was a quickie grab shot before shuffling out of the way.

I think I like it because of the touch of HOM, a slow speed limit for the little guys.

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions you are willing to offer.

Dennis,

I really like this. The expression on the cub's face is great. Black bears are one of my favorite subjects.

I'm surprised that you had enough DOF to keep both sets of eyes sharp. Did you focus on the first cub or somewhere between the two? Either way I really like the shot.

Chris

I agree! the speed limit sign adds to this one. Love little cubbies! As Karen would say "precious little pumpkins" :)

 :D Dennis I love these little guys. I usually do not like signs in the background but this REALLY works. Thats probably the cubs max speed at that age too.

Dennis, These little guys are just adorable! The sign fits them so perfectly, and I appreciated the laugh. Thanks!

Cute image. The sign does add. Looking at the sign, I can't help but think it would be like a funny postcard if it was a "Go Slow Children" sign.

My vote is a yes on the sign, too. I also like that it's slightly OOF but still readable. The cute-o-meter just pegged off the scale on the cubs! Love the looks they are giving the camera.

Very cute! If you make a practice of getting between cubs and their mother like you did here you may have to violate the posted speed limit!
