This adult Black Bear was shot at the last STL at Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary. I find it very hard to keep up both Phil and Chas as I only shot Nikon and not Cannon. That in it self puts me down one strike to start with . But here goes my best shot at it.

1/250 @ f4

600 mm

Shot in the RAW mode

Nice going Jack. Looks great here. The only suggestion I might make is a couple more boosts with the USM..otherwise perfect. Well done. great bear.

Jack,

Welcome to bear week! I really like the raised foot showing the motion here. exposure is right on and like Dennis said, some more USM would make it even better.

Jack,
So this is why you planted yourself on that path and waited so long. Comin' right at you and looking good. The sharpening has been mentioned. Like the raised foot. Good job.

Frank , this is great the way the bear is ambling towards you. I gotta ask though, even at 600mm and the bear looks like it's on the same path as you, What did you do after this shot? Do you pick up gear and move out of the way or does the bear veer off the path? I agree about the usm. Thanks.

This is an excellent shot Jack, as has already been mentioned - all it needs is a little more sharpening with USM to finish off a great job!

I think you caught him well here, Jack. I like the motion, and I particularly like that you caught where the b/g didn't didn't burn-out so much to be distracting. Nice work, amigo.

A good image with implied action. Possibly a bit more USM.
