This is a spectacular image George! What great warm light on the Orca and your timing was right on. The background puts this one over the top.

I think this is my favorite of your images that I've seen! Spectacular light, excellent composition, and that BG gives a wonderful sense of place. Very very nice!

This is a gorgeous shot, wonderful light, timing is perfect and I like the inclusion of the mountains etc. I hate to even mention this, but my eye keeps looking at the boats.. It just makes me wonder how it would be if they were cloned out..Just a super picture either way. Thanks for posting it here at NSN...

The boats are ever-so-slightly distracting. I wouldn't clone them out, but perhaps selectively desaturate them so the super light is only on the whale.

Great image - the light and mountain BG bring this into the stratosphere.

Fantastic light and the sense of emptiness conveyed by the distant mountains make this shot for me. Its a slight shame about the other boats, but not a lot can be done about that.

So, any tips for getting great Orca shots.......?

I think a trip to Tysfjord is looking more and more likely for 2004
