Kapnikarea or Church of Our Lady of Kapnikarea is the name of a small, Byzantine church that dates back to the 11th century and is located in the center of Athens, on Ermou Street, the most commercial street in the historic center of the city.

The church is dedicated to the Entry of the Virgin Mary and belongs to the University of Athens, thus it is called "Holy University Church".

Lovely view of this ancient church. It looks fairly well maintained. I wonder if people can go inside.
