Number two of the trilogy I did at the Golden Gate in late February/early March. I first attempted to take this from the Presidio, but that didn't look too good. So I moved closer. By the time I arrived at the bridge, visible moisture had decorated the architecture, making the whole scene even more beautiful.

While my favourite so far is still the first view, I am loving seeing this iconic location from the various viewpoints,  different times of day and different moods.  Beautifully done once again, Jens!

Rather magical to see this in the mist. Perhaps the cars just disappear! ;).

Believe it or not, I once actually did see the Golden Gate Bridge without a single vehicle on it. It was on a weekend in September of 2013, when the Oakland Bay Bridge was closed to make the switch from the old version of that bridge to the new one. To compensate drivers for the inconvenience of having to drive long alternate routes to get to their destinations the operator of those bridges dropped all tolls for that whole weekend.

Somehow drivers must have gotten the message wrong and were under the impression that all bridges are closed for that time, so nobody drove. Except for me. It was outright eerie being the only one on the Golden Gate Bridge, in complete silence.

A wonderful capture of this iconic bridge. The only time I was there, the bridge was shrouded in thick fog for a few days.
