Found this scene in an open courtyard in Winslow, AZ. early in the morning. Photographed as found. I didn't even move the chair. I did wait about 15 minutes for the shadow to move a little so it was right above the chair. Click to view against dark BG

I am intrigued by the little blue 'creatures' carved in the back of the chair!  Not any wildlife I'm familiar with, Alan. :)

Very nice ! The figures look like Kokopelli, perhaps. I really like the simplicity of this, and the nice tree shadow. Very original and appealing-that chair could probably tell some interesting stories.

Cynthia is right. The figures are of Kokopelli, a fertility diety of native american tribes in the SW US. Figures and images of kokopelli are very common in this part of the country.

Thanks Alan, and thanks Cindy for the link - it makes interesting reading.  Perhaps not a good idea to sit on that chair if you're a girl  :)
