I took this one at the beginning of this month at dawn on one of the bridges in Aberdeen, WA. It's intended to convey a feeling of what this city is like (the charm of decay) rather than illustrating the location.

As Dave said, a sombre image of this dark and brooding structure. You do have a great eye for perspectives and composition when capturing these iron and steel skeletal remains, Jens!

It's actually not a remain of something it used to be, this bridge carries US Hwy 12, the main traffic artery through town. Things like that are the reason why I refer to Aberdeen, WA, as "America's Queen of Decay".

I think we misunderstood each other a little, Jens.  I always think that these structures look like the stripped back skeletons of buildings without the cladding of the exterior finish of bricks, etc.  even if they are supporting a bridge. :)

I like your perspective on this- all the angles, lines, patterns and textures. Lots to look at, and tells the story well.

The dark gloomy appearance conveys your feelings well.

Good perspective on the aging and complex structure. An interesting combination of shapes -must click to see brighter details.
