An early morning shot of a square barn in front of Kamiak Butte, Washington. This was taken with a Nikon D850and 70-200mm lens at 75 mm.

The shadows on the barn provide a three dimensional feeling. Beautifully done, Dave.

With the barn being the main subject, this is definitely the right gallery for this very well composed and taken image, Dave. Nicely done!

The barn is the star there, and it really shines. Nice shadows and wooded background make it stand out I wonder if it is a working barn-I see a fence there that looks well maintained, and perhaps a plowed field behind. Very interesting and unusual.

As far as I know the barn is still in use and the fields are all being worked. Barns like this are increasingly rare . Several burned last September during a horrible wind swept fire that burned at least 15 square miles of the county and almost the entire town of Malden. Thanks for your comments.

So sorry to hear about the fire. Barns are disappearing everywhere -in Vermont there is some effort to save them, but not much farming. We have some unique round barns here, but I've never seen a square one.

Nice shot, to me it would be even better with about half the sky cropped.  As for the move, our forum rules don't allow man-made objects in the landscape gallery (unless they are a tiny insignificant part of the photo) and this one is used for photos that do include them.  That's why John moved it.

Here's what it says for the Landscapes gallery:
For posting and feedback of images where the natural outdoor world of land, sea and sky is the primary subject. Human Elements are only allowed when they are not a significant part of the scene. Scenes with significant human elements should be posted in the Travel and Culture Forum."
