Portland Oregon "Dayscape" (taken at 7:40 pm, 30 minutes before sunset) on September 9, the smoke from the immense forest fires in the Oregon Cascades was just in Day 2, It got much worse, so bad that going out to take photos was hazardous...
Future is now unless we make some changes..
D800, 14mm (Rokinon 14, f2.2), f5.6, 1/200.
No filters, no gimmicks.

Scary shot, Dan. I hope you had a good mask. I can't imagine experiencing this nightmare, and worry that some day I might. A warning sign for sure.

I don't know if you like to use tools to straighten your photos. If so, there are apps that could do so. I don't consider that "cheating". But perhaps this was intentional, making it look like everything is collapsing.

A frightening propsect, and as you say, its here and now, Dan. It looks like its so thick and choking, you could cut that atmosphere with a knife.
