To defray their costs (and make a bit more profit) Globus Tours - which is the tour company I used for my European trip - deposits the busload of tourists in commercial places of business along the itinerary where, presumably, many will wish to purchase the products on offer. Some are more interesting than others but, being penurious and saving what few Euros I had for food, I bought nothing ... just gawked. At one of these tourists drop off establishments in Bavaria - the House of Black Forest Clocks Adolf Herr E. K. - I wandered about and admired the workmanship of the carved cuckoo clocks in the store. Much was interesting and was visually fascinating but nothing interested me as much as the salesgirl (a college student working there over the summer). I was then old enough to be her grandfather but my age has never stopped me from admiring that which I think is attractive. Next to the store is the Hornberger Uhrenspiele.
