This chimney was all that remained of an early homestead in the Tehachapi Mts., Kern County, California.  The image was taken in 2014.  When I returned last year I found it had been destroyed by vandals.  Sometimes our society sucks!

Yes, we have our share of them over here as well! I guess the chimney/fireplace was the only part of the house not made of wood, always the last man standing.
