Not quite so dramatic light wise, but just north of Aviemore lies a small village called Carrbridge. Mid February. Had been a lot of snow, which disappeared quite quickly. (Not unusual in the UK).

The bridge was built in 1717 and is the oldest stone bridge in the Scottish highlands. Frontal lighting would have provided more separation from the bg, but it was an unplanned stop, more a grab shot rather than a project.

Nikon D800 and 25 Zeiss. Please feel free to view uncompressed.

It is a great looking bridge and I like the warm lighting. I think this is a good candidate for the 'orton' effect. There are many tutorials online if you are not familiar with the effect.
it would bring out the glow more in the warm lighting to your taste and soften the B/G to give more separation. Just use a layer mask on the final layer and paint the F/G black to keep it original.

Although not permitted, it looked a bit to rickety for my taste. (It's quite narrow at the top).

A classic and would make for a great postcard/greeting card. Like the warmth bouncing off the hill and under bridge. Must truly be a beautiful sight.

Just love the light under the bridge and the whole, evocative mood expressed here. Wonderful story, and somehow, it looks as ancient as it is- like something from another world. I can't imaging how it has survived for so long. I'm waiting for the elves..or maybe a troll to appear!
