I like the way you used lighting to enhance the "old" feeling of this corner. I might be tempted to crop out most of the floor radiator. :)

My thoughts too, a plain wooden floor would seem to be more in  keeping with the old quilting craft - but as they still do it today, I guess the marriage of the two items is quite clever!
