Finally back from 5 weeks in Florida and my laptop craps out so it went in for service and then Adobe CC on my desktop decided to not recognize my license so processing was impossible.  I love technology but not this week.  Finally got Adobe to work for this image.

taken at the end of October

A gorgeous photo in every respect.

Moved from the Landscape Gallery to Travel and Culture due to the man-made subject.

Glad you got things straightened out so we could see this classic beauty. The red leaves on the foreground tree please me especially as a nice accent. The composition is perfect!

Incidentally, I've had a lot of trouble with the latest Adobe CC and the new bridge doesn't work at all!

The fact that most photographers continue to give money to Adobe is beyond comprehension to me...

Ok, dumb question but what are you using E.J.?  Actually maybe this topic could be elsewhere as I suspect there might be a few opinions.

Just so cool Malcolm. masterful. As ever, utterly superb when viewed large. thanks for past help BTW.

On a side issue, don't you just love technology. Anything changes and it smacks out and throws a wobbler! LOL. As for Adobe, to me it's a better the devil you know rather than the hassle of change and the devil you don't. (changing will still give you hassle at sometime, guaranteed).

Judging by your images Malcolm, stick with what you know. They work and are stunningly beautiful.
Make your life spectacular!

It certainly is!  and I love the little details - like the way the colour of the old spokes in the water wheel complement the flame coloured leaves so well.

Agree with you David...have used photoshop forever, and 98% happy with it...partly because, as you say, I know it so well. I can't imagine starting over with something  so complex, and new.  Adobe support is pretty good...so far. We shall see.

Thank you all for the many views, comments, compliments and the Editors's Pick they are all very appreciated. This is one of those locations that draws you to it once you've seen a photo of it. I first saw an image of the Grist Mill in mid Summer and I knew then that I'd have to visit it in the Fall ... Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Banff, Jasper and the Tetons all have the same effect on me. I hope I've done the scene justice but I know I'll be back to it and the others ... thanks again.

Malcolm,

This is just magical! It has the look of a movie set - I mean that in the most complimentary way - you've crafted a superb image!

Many kudos!

Mike

P.S. I too am curious as to which raw converter(s) E.J. uses. I've been throwing money at Adobe for a long, long time.
