This is beautiful. Is the foreground lit up naturally or did you light paint?

Great view of the milky way and a nice composition. The bridge and trees look a bit spooky to me. Maybe tone down the lighting a bit? Or perhaps that is the effect you were seeking. Maybe just my post-halloween perception? :)

I think it looks fine overall.

If you use a led lite torch maybe use some CTO gel over the light to get a more natural lighting effect and drop your kelvin temp to round 3700 -4000, either in camera or in post processing.

Thanks. I'm using a Maglite Mini incandescent flashlight in auto ISO with my a6500 and the result is an orange appearing light. I've tried the fluorescent white balance but don't care for the deep blue sky. I'd like a natural appearing color from my light painting but am not sure how to achieve it.

OK. Does the a6500 have the option to set the kelvin temperature in the white balance settings? If so set it to about 3800. If not I assume you shoot in RAW, then simple adjust the white balance down to around the same 3700- 4000 range till you get something you like.

Failing that get a ledlight torch and tape a bit of CTO gel over the front, the same stuff you get with a flash to modify the ambient light.

I really like this one, Mike, the combination of the stark bridge lines and the night sky is lovely. I even prefer this view to some of the tree/sky images. Well done!
