Not sure if this fits, so please remove if it doesn't.   My daughter Poppy attended her Graduation ceremony today.  From the back seats I saw this Professor in queue, walking by to assume their seats and thought to share.

Lighting a nightmare, but love the character.  (Theatre, spotlights, shade and a subject that was walking by)..doh!  Either way, so much emotion enjoyed by so many on a wonderful day of recognition for our loved ones.

One wonders how much life experience and nurturing she holds.  Certainly, I feel a sense of contentment and at ease with oneself.

Your portrait of this professor brings forth exactly these thoughts. Beautiful image and brilliant work, Dave!

Its definitely part of many cultures, Dave - so perfectly fine to include here.  I'm sure the day must have stirred many emotions within you, not least your pride in seeing your daughter, Poppy 'fledge' .  8)   Thanks for sharing this with us, and congratulations!

Carol.

Wonderful portrait! The lighting is what makes it even more special.

Lovely mood here-your really caught her in a poignant moment. I rather like the coloring-adds another artistic element. Just lovely. And congratulations on Poppy's graduation!

Love this!
The lighting is perfect....she seems to be so thoughtful, reflective and proud.

A nice print would make a great present for that professor!!!

Congrats on your daughter's graduation.
