For a b/w landscape to work for me, the tonal range/contrast has to be spot on. This doesn't quite work IMO, and I'm not too keen on the vignette effect - but that's just my 2 cents worth, Dan.

Nice scene with potential- kind of agree with Carol though-looks a little flat. Perhaps it can be re-worked to a better effect. I'm not too familiar with how these HDR conversions work, so I don't have anything helpful to say. Always glad to see people experiment with techniques in any case.

The vignetting is something that some like and some don't. It doesn't seem to be evenly applied, though--there's a lot more dark in the lower right, and almost none in the lower left.

The B&W conversion seems well done. I like the tones of the greenery in the foreground in particular.

I might want some more detail in the sky and background, though.

Despite all this, I do quite like the image overall.
