This magnificent shed is a real sight to see. It is 900 feet long and holds 100,000 tons of grain. It was built in 1941 out of tall mountain ash trees over 540 for the poles due to the shortage of steel during WW2. It is the only one left in Australia of the 22 built during the war. It was a real challenge to photograph as it is only open 1 Sunday a month 10-2pm. Lots of people so getting a clean shot requires patience. Also very dark in there punctuated by bright bursts of light from the small sky lights. Only available light.

Shot on a tripod with remote at 1/6 sec, F8, ISO 1000.

A beautiful, available-light image, Kim. At first glance, I thought the skylights were electrical light fixtures. But the natural light is lovely.

What an interesting story, and you did beautifully with this-it really shows the vast dimensions of the building and the numerous poles. Like Ron, I thought at first the skylights were electric lights. So much more impressive that they are natural light. Enjoyed your other pictures too.

Thank you Ron and Cynthia.

It was a shock to see the outside of the shed which looks quite long but short in height, then on entry it is towering inside.

Nice perspective which really captures the vastness of this grain store, Kim. A fine image in the available light!
