This magnificent shed is a real sight to see. It is 900 feet long and holds 100,000 tons of grain. It was built in 1941 out of tall mountain ash trees over 540 for the poles due to the shortage of steel during WW2. It is the only one left in Australia of the 22 built during the war. It was a real challenge to photograph as it is only open 1 Sunday a month 10-2pm. Lots of people so getting a clean shot requires patience. Also very dark in there punctuated by bright bursts of light from the small sky lights. Only available light.
Shot on a tripod with remote at 1/6 sec, F8, ISO 1000. http://img.gg/VPipm9v Link to extra images including outside view of Shed. |
