Along the northwestern coast of Lanai, accessible only by high clearance 4WD vehicles is a Shipwreck Beach. Taken moments after sunrise.

Beautiful light! You always find the loveliest clouds too. :). Love the little gleam of white in the water. The trees are interesting- all windblown in the same direction. I wonder how long that ship has been out there (I assume that's a ship in the water) and if shipwrecks happen often....Such an innocent looking place.

A sobering image with the juxtaposition of the wild beauty of the coastline and the wreck of the scuttled World War II barge left there to rot. A powerful shot E.J.!

The Ship is the Isle Ways.  It was used in WWII to haul oil around the Pacific.  It was scuttled there in 1954.  I wanted to fly my drone out to it but it was just too windy and gusty the day I went there.
