Saint George's - Grenada
a7R III, 24-70mm @ 70mm, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/500s
Here is another shot from a sunset catamaran sail during a trip to the southern Caribbean island of Grenada last week.  This one is a hand held panorama consisting of 7 shots.  It was taken about an hour before the dusk shot I posted earlier. As I wrote on that earlier shot, St. George's is the capital city and population center for this small island nation of approximately 110,000 people. The vast majority of the population is of West African descent, their ancestors brought to Grenada as slaves to harvest the many spices that grow here.  Grenada gained it's independence from Great Britain in 1974 and was liberated from communist takeover by a coalition of Caribbean forces and American forces in October 1983.

I like how the wider view shows the colourful buildings almost jostling for position along the coastline. I presume the interior of the island is more preserved for the growing of spices, particularly Nutmeg (love it!) for which Grenada is famous.

Yes, Grenada has more protected land as a percentage of the area of the country than any other country on Earth as far as I know.

Stunning, E.J.! Needs to take up a whole wall! Love all the colorful buildings and boats. That one blue building near the center kinda takes the cake. I wonder what's in it? (Nutmeg factory??) ;)
