A few years ago while on a trip, I was passing reasonably close by my old childhood home.  Making a detour I took a couple of photos and the memories came flooding back.  This lady stood up on her arched gate gazing out from her commanding viewpoint, and I took the photo from this angle as that was how I saw her as a small child - she always seemed to be way up in the clouds!  I don't know where you think this might be......... but it is tucked away in the English countryside......

Happy Days!

Very cool frame, Carol, and it is clear that to a child, at this perspective, she appeared as a very imposing figure. Thanks for sharing your childhood – amazing this was tucked away in the countryside. Lovely image!!!

What a wonderful point of view- I can just imagine being a little child and seeing this impressive woman atop a huge arch. It's wonderful how images can bring back lasting memories- love that you shared that with us. She looks so grand up there- perhaps she was an inspiration/idealization for you? No idea where it is, of course, having never been there. Thanks for to glimpse into your childhood home and memories.
