An impression from our recent visit to Sicily.
I liked the juxtaposition between the modern sculpture and the ancient greek temple.

Image made with Nikon D500 and Nikkor 16-85mm kit zoom.
Processed with PS CC and Nik Silver Efex.

Thanks for the visit.

A striking contrast-well seen and processed. Also rather disturbing to me...is the sculpture a permanent fixture? I wonder what it represents.

He really doesn't look very well, Sinuhe......... no wonder he's having a lie down....

I agree its a very dramatic scene with the 'fallen angel' and the temple remains in the background.  I am always fascinated by these ancient ruins wherever they may be, so thanks for sharing this one!

Hi Cynthia

I gather it is a more or less permeant fixture.

I think it is either meant to represent Ikarus or a fallen deity.

Quite striking.

Best, Sinuhe.

Thanks Carol,
I was surprised to see such well maintained Greek structures in Sicily....wasn't aware of these .....need to brush up my history.
Best
Sinuhe
