Thanks. Really would like to convert the a6k to IR but don't know my real interest level yet. 30 second exposures are a bummer and then the camera processes the image for about the same amount of time before saving in the buffer.

That extra 30 seconds can be shut off.  Just go to your menu and turn off long exposure noise reduction (Camera Icon menu #5).  You don't really need it for 30 second exposures.

Turned off long exposure noise reduction and it works like a champ. A real blessing. Thanks.
