As  fans of the Vera TV series, we had to pass through Northumberland on our way down from Scotland.
The weather was inclement - putting it mildly....the rain paused long enough for us to stop and take a pic of this lonely cottage.
Ideal hideout for a somewhat reclusive writer.

I like the drama in this picture-the dark clouds contrasting with this bright flowers and , icing on the cake, the blur door. Striking photo!

Me too!  I always enjoy Vera, a refreshingly different take on the usual TV detective dramas, and Brenda Blethyn is perfect in the role.

Lovely layers in this scene, from the foreground spikes of Rosebay Willowherb, across the rolling landscape to that dramatic sky, and the blue door shines out like a beacon in the darkness!  I think you captured the mood perfectly.  :)

Beutiful shot of an area that is high on my list to visit.

Just FYI, our BBS software does not recognize font tags in German like Helvetica Neue which caused the text to be posted with a bunch of BBS tags. I edited those out. In the future, please use unformatted text which means cutting and pasting from other applications should not be done.

Thanks for the kind comments - glad you like the image.

Would love to have had more time in the area - perhaps another time.

EJ - Thanks for the edit and info - duly noted.

Beautiful, that colourful door works wonderfully. I'd be tempted to crop from the bottom slightly in order to bring those flowers to the foreground more.

Thanks Peter - I'll give it a try.
