This is a re-take of an image I first shot about 15 years ago near Hite  Crossing in Utah, where the road wiggles through a scenery of sandstone mountains and cliffs to reach a steel bridge across the Colorado River. The setting sun casts golden light onto the cliffs above the Colorado.

Shot from the very same spot and also using the very same lens as the first time (different camera, though).

A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

A really cool scene and excellent placement of all the elements in the shot. Gotta love that Sony dynamic range - a shot like this is nearly impossible to do with any other manufacturer's sensor without doing it in two shots or either losing too much highlight or too much shadow detail.

Striking contrasts- love the way the road appears to lead to the bridge in a very nice composition. Makes me want to go there!

I used to shoot this scene on Velvia with an EOS3. Compared to this it was horrible. But there was no alternative in those days and nobody knew that one day we'd be able to do it better. So we didn't miss it.
