Same image as yesterday's post, but with a serious piece of hardware added. It was also taken a few minutes earlier, so it's a bit darker.

A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

The two images are both very good, but I prefer this one because the moon is higher in the frame and the cargo ship definitely adds color and interest. Very nice!

Agreed, the container ship definitely adds an interest factor. That is a beautiful moon.

The whole mood of the scene is changed with the addition of the cargo ship, and not in a good way for me Jens, although it does give a good comparison point with the previously tranquil view!  8)

It’s my least favorable of the three as well but still very interesting in comparison; particularly to the “Morning Solitude” image. The addition of a single element - the ship - changes a conceptual image conveying solitude, loneliness, calm, peace, humbleness etc. to an illustration for international trade, trade deficit, technology, nautics, transportation and such. And the “Out of the Blue” image is totally different from the other two by being just an abstract from lines, shapes and colors. I can blur that one to where the components are unrecognizable and it will still be a pleasant composition.

Three completely different images taken within minutes without changing the camera/lens/tripod settings or position. I am particularly glad that I continued shooting after the ship had passed (I actually went on until the moon kissed the bridge; but by that time the atmosphere had distorted the moon to where it looked more like a skull).

Very well said Jens, and an excellent series on the changing face and mood of this iconic place.   :)

All 3 images are very powerful, each in their own way.
Excellent series.
