The Northern Lights were really strong earlier this week, so I headed to Crex Meadows WMA in western WI. I brought my canoe along to do some paddling and photography! Around 9:00 PM the lights made a showing but  also the clouds started to come in. I used my canoe for a foreground and light painted during my star trail exposure.

Great idea -- the canoe is a nice complement to the NL.

Love the colors in the sky - the splash of yellow is awesome and it matches canoe. :)

Not sure if the star trail reflections on the water are an asset. It's still a great image, though.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
