Medicine Lake - Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1D, 28-70 @ 31mm, 1/40, f/8, ISO 200

Pictured here from left to right are Steve Mason, Tom Hill, Len Backus, and Charles Glatzer setting up in front of the mound of rocks to use it as a foreground to the water and mountain behind it. We all got ourselves and our equipment wet setting up in the icy water and leaning out over it to get the desired effect.

Awesome shot! I sure remember this one, for several reasons.
1, taking that shot in the vertical orientation was a neck-breaker, and
2, I got what my friends and family (and Reader's Digest Canada) think is my best shot, right there.

You got much better sun on the peaks than I did.

This is so symbolic to me. I always feel that we humans are so small in the scheme of nature. Nature being so large, vast and breathtaking. You've captured that feeling well in this photo. I like it fine!

Wonderful image. I think that you are the best Avian/Landscape photographer on NSN

The landscape is wonderful! I think it would be better without the people, though. They're really too small to be a "people" shot to my eye--but then maybe Linda has the right idea... But then for EOH--there's that huge scar from the road running along the entire frame at the base of the mountain--maybe the impact of people isn't so small after all.

This is an awesome shot E.J! That bright red jacket (Chas?) really makes this I think. The people may be small in the frame but they have great impact. Gorgeous light and color of course....
